GK and NCST Adopt a Public School Classroom Program
March 9, 2011, Bacoor, Cavite – The NCST Institute for Nation Building has once again lived up to its credo: “Hindi Nang-Iiwan, Hindi Nagpapa-Iwan”.
The NCST CWTS Class of 2010-2011 initiated the painting of a 2-storey English Department Building at Bacoor National High School Annex and partnered with Gawad Kalinga (GK) in response to the call for nation-building while imbibing the Bayanihan spirit.
This activity was in partnership and cooperation with various agencies including DepEd –Cavite, City Government of Bacoor and the recipient school, Bacoor National High School Annex.
During this event, the Team GK – Bacoor National High School Annex Chapter was inducted as the first batch of public high school volunteers. They were inducted by Franz Josef “Coach” Hipol of GK-National.
The Adopt A Public School Classroom Program was initiated by NCST and was first launched during the 60th birthday of GK Founder Mr. Tony Meloto, with Dasmarinas National High School as its first ever recipient school. NCST has committed to replicate this program initially in the province of Cavite. Through this initiative, the NCST-GK partnership has made this program a national template for public school development.
Through this effort, we hope to serve the public school students by providing a more conducive learning environment and to encourage the youth to volunteer for nation building.
